Balls
Sponge, rubber, and foam balls make PE the most exciting lesson of the week when they are poured out of the bucket and the kids start running around. There are also tennis balls when they want to catch and throw a more grownup ball, and spiky balls that are unpredictable and designed to improve reaction times.
The wide assortment of colours give every child something to focus on that you can also use to split them up into teams. Setting them the challenge of collecting every ball of their team’s colour before the other teams is a great way to do short speedy sprints. Having these game-based elements is often a really effective way to get young kids into athletics and sport.
We even have foam rugby balls to help with catching and running without any of the difficulties of handling a full-size ball. You can create a circle where you pass the ball round and round and before you know it you’ll be running at full speed with the ball flying through the air.
When the time comes to gather everything up and head back inside for another lesson, you’ll be glad to know that our sets come with bags and buckets. You can make picking everything up the final activity of the lesson and turn it into a race. The winner gets to pick which colour they want to be next time it’s PE. Excellent news when you want to be able to add fun into the school day without working any harder.
